Beta-meteoroids leaving the solar system

Overview

Key Dates
May 16Registration closes
June 16Meeting Day 1
June 17Meeting Day 2, conference dinner
June 18Meeting Day 3

An international workshop on cosmic dust will be held from June 16-18, 2025 at Peyton Hall in Princeton University (4 Ivy Ln., Princeton, NJ 08540).

In a workshop style we will discuss the present state and new venues in cosmic dust research. Major topics of the workshop will include:

  • Zodiacal dust complex (IDPs)
  • Asteroidal & cometary dust processes
  • Interstellar dust
  • Exoplanetary/Astrophysical dust
  • Circumplanetary dust including dusty rings
  • Dust near airless bodies (impact ejecta & plumes)
  • Laboratory experiments focusing on in-situ dust detection
  • Space missions and instruments

In situ and observational results, theoretical models, and the outcome of laboratory experiments will be discussed and their implications for future space missions will be highlighted. Of special emphasis is cosmochemistry and compositional analysis of dust given the upcoming IMAP, Europa Clipper, and DESTINY+ missions. Additionally, we encourage discussion of cross-cutting topics that bridge astrophysical and solar system dust observations.

Registration

Register here by clicking on the orange “Buy Tickets” bottom from that link.

Please note, registration for the conference of $130 includes catered breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks on all three conference days Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Dinner will be hosted in the Chancellor Green Library Tuesday evening June 17. We have separately added the conference dinner fee of $65 on Tuesday evening, which includes food, beverages, and taxes. From the airport, purchase a ticket terminating in “Princeton”. At Princeton Junction, disembark and get on The Dinky, a two-car train at the Princeton Junction Station that will take you into campus. From there, it is a 0.5 mile (0.8 km) walk to downtown.

Alternatively, while arriving to JFK will provide a longer journey, you can take a AirTran → LIRR from JFK to New York Penn Station. From there, you can take the NJT to Princeton using the directions above.
